FACELIFT  is a collaboration with artist Martha Pailing, and was made in connection to her writing residency at The Old Electric, Blackpool as part of the Power Plays writing festival in July, 2024. This sculptural installation was developed in response to conversations with community members, who generosly gave their reflections and thoughts about laughter. The work emerged through discussions about how the expereinecs we have, such as laughter, and joy, fear, grief etc... live in our faces in the wirnkles and lines that we gather as we live out our lives. The title of the work came from a comment made by Martine, one of the participants of the project:
